Biochar for sustainable land use & carbon removals

Landusers can chose to convert bio-residues into a carbon rich char that can have cascading benefits of locking up carbon in soils for centuries, reducing emissions and preventing the leaching nutrient rich slurry into our watersystems.

Biochar or terra preta is an age-old technique of imporving soil quaality and productivity. We intend to develop a programme in Ireland, Malawi and Spain, using apporpriate and advanced technologies, to enhance biochar's roles in circular economy.
